A Sad Salamander Tale

It has been so cold here in Florida, that we have had hard freezes overnight.  Witness the sight I observed this morning out my bedroom's sliding glass door:

I opened the door; he didn't move.  I stepped close thinking to startle him; he didn't budge.  I picked up a twig and gently touched his tail, nothing.  The poor little thing looks frozen to the concrete.

I know, I know.  It's nature.  Well, sometimes I hate nature.

P.S.  Did some research and discovered this little guy is a lizard, not a salamander.  If anyone knows his exact name, please let me know!  (And I don't mean like "Lizzie"....)

P.P.S.  I read that some lizards hibernate in the cold, but wouldn't they curl up somewhere to do that?  He isn't hibernating, is he?  See how much I know about this topic!

Update:  Oh my god, Oh my god, Oh my god!  He's gone!  He was still there just an hour ago and now he's gone!  Do you think maybe he was hibernating?!  I didn't notice any cats (would they eat lizards?) or owls or birds or anything out the window by him (I'm sitting near it).....Oh my god!  (And yay!!)
