Getting the Hang of It

Ok, so it's been a couple of weeks since my introductory blog and nothing.  Not because I lost interest, but because I've been debating and analyzing what on earth to say.  (Yes, those who know me will be sighing and muttering something about my well-known "analysis-paralysis" propensity.)

Unlike my daughter-in-law's blog, which is formatted around her beautiful and talented (can we say "Nana-biased"?) children or my junior high friend's gardening blog, which she writes from Germany where she lives, mine is focused on, well, nothing in particular.   As it says in my description, just random musings.

After all, I am no one special who has done nothing very special.  Don't get me wrong --- I love my life.  But it's had ups and downs like anyone's and is hardly distinguishable from the countless other ordinary lives out there.  However, that said, I have to emphasize that I'm very grateful for the experiences I've had and the people in my life.  I'm especially grateful for the people who have allowed for my many flaws and mistakes and still choose to keep me around.  God knows they are truly accepting.  (Or crazy ;))

So maybe my thoughts, or some of them, will resonate with other ordinary people out there living ordinary lives who are also grateful for what they've experienced and the people they love.

It's hard to find a balance when you're writing for a (potentially) vast anonymous public between what interests you and what might interest others. And that's the case whether you have a specific focus or not, I think. But partly we write blogs for ourselves anyway, and that is legit! So keep it up.
